King Williams District

Apparently I had too much on my mind and forgot to ask my brother for the pictures from when our family was together again!! Ugh! I really want them to show to you all. Maybe tomorrow I will get them.

Saturday was the most perfect day ever! Husband and I went for a long walk to King Williams district. Basically it's this lovely place just south of downtown (within walking distance along the riverwalk) with these enormous victorian mansions (most gorgeous)  and a super relaxed pace of life. It's amazing! Aside from all the houses being worth millions of dollars I could totally make myself at home there. It was such a lovely day you would have thought it was spring time already. Another reason why I love Texas so much.

Perfect day for one of these. :)
Today I had to go in for jury duty. It was my first time so I didn't really know what to expect. I wasn't prepared for how many people they had called in. I think somewhere around 600 people there. Amazing! I was kind of excited to see what would happen. Basically we did a whole lot of sitting and waiting until our name was called out for a jury panel. I got called after 3 or 4 hours of waiting. They transfered us to our court room where we waited another hour for voir dire. That's when the judge asks the panel questions in an effort to choose who he would like to use for jury. After waiting for an hour the judge came out and said that the case was settled and there was no need for a jury. And that was that. I choose to think that it was not a day wasted. After all I met some interesting people, I get a whopping six dollar check, a girl with pink hair complemented me on my skirt and I found an awesome new place on my walk home which I can't wait to go back to with husband.

That's it for now. Husband is home from work and we are listening to russian radio. I don't understand much but I can understand when they say Russian Radio because it's basically the same as English except with a heavy rolling of the R's. Makes me laugh every time.

Tootles!

  1. I've never been on jury duty but have always thought it would be interesting. I love big, old houses too and would LOVE to live in one someday! My favorites are the southern plantation houses with the big pillars on the porches. :)
